About us

The business

Through one-on-one coaching and group courses, we help professionals move forward with clarity and confidence.

Unlike traditional career coaching focused on resume building, our approach is rooted in the science and practice of marketing. When professionals feel stuck in their careers or undervalued, the issue is often not a lack of talent, but a lack of clarity, positioning, visibility and a plan. That is where we focus.

We offer a high-touch group course. Work, on Purpose designed to help professionals turn career dissatisfaction into a clear, marketable next move.

The people

In Your Shift was founded by two experts from different generations united by one belief: people thrive when their work aligns with their values, strengths, and purpose.

We first worked together at Kidsave, where Terry was co-founder and president and Lauren led communications and marketing. Together, we helped create life-changing outcomes for children and families while building a partnership grounded in trust, strategy, and shared mission.

In 2025, we joined forces again combining purpose-driven guidance with modern marketing strategy to help people navigate career change, reinvention, and new beginnings.

Work, on Purpose helps people who are ready for a shift, gain clarity, reposition their strengths, and prepare for a clear next move. Using proven guidance and practical marketing strategies, you’ll leave with direction, momentum, and a plan you can act on immediately.

If you want to jump start your career, to start an enterprise, or realign your nonprofit’s work to your mission, then In Your Shift may be right for you. We offer a five session course designed to put you in action and show real results. And, we offer one-on-one coaching designed to meet you where you are and help you take meaningful steps forward. Either a Shift Assessment or signing up for our course, Work, on Purpose are the two best ways to get started.

First consultation - Free Shift Assessment

Every engagement begins with a complimentary 20-minute conversation. This is our chance to learn about you, understand the goals you want to accomplish, and make sure our work together is the right fit. While our paid sessions usually run 45 to 60 minutes, this introductory meeting gives us time to explore your direction, identify challenges, and outline the best next steps with us.
